Third little accident

Well I was "flushing" up a wall today with my hammer, was swinging upward to hit the bottom of the board, and um...kinda missed the board. The handle caught me right below my hairline. According to my Dad, it was a pretty deep cut. lol. No concussion of any kind but I have a decent sized goose egg. lol. Anyway I got six PRO stitches by my AWESOME Dad and am going back to work tomorrow! YAY! Peace out, people!

Second little accident

Well this entry will be very short. Ya. Kinda had a nail go into my hand a few days ago. A wall was falling and I caught it...well I caught the nail. lol. Have pics and everything. lol.

First Day

The first day was amazing! We got a lot of work done! The first thing that we did was pound a bunch of steel rods into the ground along a suspended rope. This rope was the size of kite string and was pulled tight in order to make the forms which we were working on, square. After that, we put a bunch of gray, plastic, rectangular tubes. These let the foundation be well ventilated of water and radon. It's very important that the top of the gray plastic tubes touch the string so everything can be level. Then you do a second footing row of tubes to make the border for where the cement will go. After you screw all those into their appropriate anchors, you put "rebar chairs" (thin metal rods with feet) in between the columns. After you put the rebar on the chairs, the final step is to pour the concrete into the forms. That's all that we did today and I'm looking very forward to the day yet again tomorrow.

Change of profession for now

Well, for the time being, I'm going to start looking out of carpentry for a job. This is at least to get some income and not to be sitting on my butt for days on end with nothing to do. lol. I'm going to check mainly into the restaurants that get tips. I don't know. I'll see what kind of bites I get. Also I'm doing this just until carpentry pics back up. Once that happens, I'll go back to that.

And again...

I was laid off a couple weeks ago from my second carpentry job at Hild Brothers Construction. I worked there for a couple months and was laid off because of lack-of-work issues. It kinda sucks but I'll find another job soon. I'm remaining optimistic about it. God knows what He is doing. All I have to do is continue to do my part.

Well it's up to God now

I was laid off work today. BUT I'm not going to give up just because something goes wrong. I'm going to try my hardest and get another job. I need to for Melody, and for myself. But ya. It was fun while it lasted.
